Mission
The Central Oregon Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Team (COARECT) is a non-profit volunteer organization of skilled Amateur Radio operators, licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and sponsored by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) who will provide non-commercial emergency communication services during emergencies and disasters as a public service to the authorizing agencies, primarily in Deschutes and Klamath Counties or other areas so assigned by the authorizing agencies. The organization also promotes a strong social activities element for all its membership. This includes licensed amateur radio operators and non-licensed personnel with an interest in amateur radio and whether interested in emergency communication or not, but who may operate in a support role to meet the goals and objectives of COARECT.
